Who I am
I'm Peter Millard, a 58 year-old father of two who lives with his family in Wendell Park, between Hammersmith and Chiswick in West London.
Originally with a background in carpentry, I pursued a career in professional photography for 25 years before coming back 'on the tools' in 2001 when I originally started trading as 'Handyman for Hire'. This gave way to 'CarpenterHandyman' and these days I concentrate more on woodwork-related jobs (alcove units, custom shelving and cabinets etc...) and larger projects like bathrooms, kitchens, sash window refurbishments and small outbuildings - summer-houses and garden studios. As much as possible, I'm the person who will answer the 'phone, discuss your requirements, source the materials, do the job and clean up afterwards.
Sometimes the jobs are just too big for one person, and over the years I've built up a useful list of contacts who can be called upon to help out - where regulations require a certified tradesman, perhaps, such as Gas Safe (CORGI) registered plumbers, or NICEIC registered electricians.
For everything else, you deal with me - the person who does the work!
